For International Women’s Day Disrupt presents ‘A Softer Kiss’ by Lianne Quigley, and music by Emilie Conway.

Dis-Cover is a hotly anticipated programme at this year’s Disrupt.

Lianne Quigley

‘A Softer Kiss’, a new theatre work by Lianne Quigley, examines the experiences of Deaf women in Ireland. The work is balanced between the political movements within Deaf Education, Deaf Culture, Irish Sign Language, and Ableism, weaving together autobiographical narratives and the stories of the women who have shaped Lianne’s life. Marking International Women’s Day, ‘A Softer Kiss’ highlights the experiences and voices of Deaf women.

‘A Softer Kiss’ is funded by the Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission, with additional support from the Arts Council and Disrupt Disability Arts Festival.

Emilie Conway
“…flitting through the lyrics at a tempo most rappers would be envious of, while maintaining a bouncing melody and clarity of diction throughout.” – GoldenPlec’s review of award winning vocal jazz artist, composer and lyricist Emilie Conway whets our appetite for this musical treat.

Followed by an in-conversation.

A touch tour will take place 30 minutes prior to the event.
